  92. <p>    This menu contains commands that affect all layers of the current image. 
  93. This contrasts to the commands in the <a href="LayersMenu.html">Layers menu</a>, 
  94. which only affect the currently active layer.</p>

  99.         <h3><a name="CropToSelection"></a>Crop to Selection
  100.         </h3><p>This menu item is only available if a selection is active. 
  101.         Clicking on this menu item will cause the image to be replaced with only 
  102.         the area that was selected. If the selection is not a rectangle or 
  103.         square, then the bounding rectangle around the selection will be used. 
  104.         However, the pixels that were not in the selection will be made 
  105.         transparent.</p>

  114.         <p>Here is the new image after having clicked on the Crop to Selection 
  115.         menu item. Note that the bounding rectangle of the selection outline was 
  116.         used to determine the new image's size, but that any pixel that was 
  117.         outside of the selection was made transparent. Also, keep in mind that 
  118.         the checkerboard pattern is used to indicate areas of the image that are 
  119.         transparent. It is not actually part of the image.</p>

  124.         <h3><a name="Resize"></a>Resize
  125.         </h3><p>This command lets you change the size of the image. In so doing, 
  126.         the image is either stretched or shrunken to the size you specify. You 
  127.         may specify a relative percentage to resize the image by, or you specify 
  128.         the absolute pixel or print size that you desire. If the "Maintain 
  129.         aspect ratio" option is checked, then typing a new Width value will 
  130.         maintain a proportional Height value, and vice versa.</p>
  131.         
  132.         <p>If you choose to modify the print size of an image, the pixel size 
  133.         will be based on the resolution, which defaults to 96 pixels per inch, 
  134.         which is the same as 37.8 pixels per centimeter. For example, if you 
  135.         specify the image to be 1 inch wide, and the resolution is 96 
  136.         pixels/inch, then the image will be resized to be 96 pixels wide.</p>
  137.         
  138.         <p>You can use this dialog to affect the print size of an image by 
  139.         adjusting just the resolution. Note that if you only modify the 
  140.         resolution of the image, the pixel size will remain the same and no 
  141.         resampling is performed. </p>
  142.         
  143.         <p>There are multiple types of resampling that you may choose. 
  144.         "Resampling" is the process of computing what the new pixels should be 
  145.         based on what the old pixels are. Some algorithms produce better looking 
  146.         results, but take longer to complete. It is recommended that you use the 
  147.         default option, "Best Quality," unless you have a specific need for and 
  148.         understanding of the other choices (<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bilinear_interpolation">Bilinear</a>,
  149.         <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bicubic_interpolation">Bicubic</a>, 
  150.         and 
  151.         <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nearest_neighbor_interpolation">
  152.         Nearest Neighbor</a>). Best Quality will automatically choose either
  153.         <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bicubic_interpolation">Bicubic</a> 
  154.         or 
  155.         <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_sampling">Super Sampling</a> 
  156.         depending on the new size that you specify.</p>

  171.         <h3><a name="CanvasSize"></a>Canvas Size
  172.         </h3><p>This command lets you enlarge or shrink the image canvas without 
  173.         changing the size of the image itself. It works similarly to the Resize 
  174.         dialog, but adds an Anchor selection. If the image canvas is enlarged, 
  175.         the new area will be filled with the secondary color.</p>
